Branding for Startups

Amazing Graze KC is a new business that specializes in anything and everything delicious. Founder, Susie Wright, offers a variety of services to satisfy your charcuterie needs, including building boards, teaching classes, and catering events. Amazing Graze makes sure to put extra love and care into their work, creating art out of food, no matter if it's a large grazing table for a party or just a small charcuterie box to share with yourself or a friend. Amazing Graze KC was looking for a comprehensive branding design, including branding, logo design, a new website, and business cards, to align with the high quality, artistic service they deliver. We used our knowledge of branding for startups to create a cohesive brand that both of our teams feel represent the successful business.

Branding

When we start branding for startups, we consider color to be one of the most important aspects, so our first step in developing her brand was to come up with a color way. We considered the market position of her business and literally looked at her work. We settled on a palette of deep greens and pinks that complimented the colorful food seen on her boards. We also came up with a “signature graphic” that can be seen throughout her site and on her business cards. We used the greens chosen in the color palette to create a small sprig of rosemary, an herb commonly found on the boards. Finally, we worked together to pick fonts, deciding upon two that are present throughout the website. The title font, Alika, is a fun, distinctive font that we felt represents Susie’s fun nature and creativity within her work. The paragraph font, Sofia Pro, contrasts the vibrant title font, being a much simpler, sans serif font that allows viewers to read the information with ease.

Logo Development

Balance is important when developing branding for startups, so because of the colorful and detailed elements and images on the site, we decided to keep the logo more simple. Leveraging the Alika font used around the website, we had the business name stand alone, allowing the font and vibrancy to speak for itself. Underneath the name reads the words “Kansas City” in a simple, thin, burgundy font, to show Amazing Graze’s locale.

Website Development

Using all of the branding elements that we previously established, we built and designed the website from the ground up. View used the Webflow platform to build the website, which made it possible to include motion, animations, and stunning graphics. Users can have a great experience on any device because of the site’s responsivity to different devices and breakpoints.

Business Cards

Finally, we designed elegant and eye-catching business cards for Amazing Graze KC, seamlessly incorporating the sophisticated new branding we developed. When branding for startups, creating representative business cards is a great way to increase recognition and traffic flow to your business. By utilizing the refined typography, sleek color palette, and modern design elements from the brand refresh, we created a card that exudes professionalism and creativity. The front features the logo prominently, paired with clean, minimalistic contact details for a polished look. On the back, we incorporated subtle textures and accents that highlight Amazing Graze KC’s vibrant, upscale identity. The result is a business card that not only makes a lasting impression but also perfectly reflects the brand’s elevated style and vision.

As fellow lovers of charcuterie, this project was a fun, creative exercise for our team, and we can’t wait to see Kansas City fall in love with it!

I am obsessed with my new brand! It's better than I could have ever imagined!
