1. Design Trends 2025: Minimalist maximalism

While the juxtaposition of the name may be confusing, minimalist maximalism is a trend that is coming in hot in terms of popularity. This trend serves as a middle ground between the two extremes of the “less is more” approach of minimalism and the “more is more” approach of maximalism. Minimalist maximalist designs include a balance of both clean, calm elements and exciting, eye-catching elements. The displayed work sample is a great visualization of the minimalist maximalist trend, as it is made up of simple text on a field of white, but is paired with vibrant colors and a lively pattern of organic shapes. This is huge for design trends 2025 graphic design because it is the perfect middle ground many designers seek. It allows for the functionality and purpose of the website, design, etc. to be highlighted while still being able to play with making them visually interesting.

2. Design Trends 2025: Data visualization

Another trend we are expecting to see is an increase in graphically interesting data visualization. This one may seem obvious to some, but it can be an amazing asset when designing for certain types of businesses, events, and more. This trend is exactly how it sounds: Including visuals such as charts, graphs, etc. to display information to the viewer. This trend is rising in popularity because it makes the viewing process smoother for the viewer, a goal which every designer should have in mind. Being able to see the data for it is without needing to think too hard in interpreting it allows viewers to appreciate the design and understand the data without frustration.

3. Design Trends 2025: Bold color

It is no secret that color is an essential element of making great graphic design. While not all design has to feature bright, bold colors, it is certainly fun when it does. Colors elicit emotional responses from viewers, and often when they are faced with bold colors, viewers are excited and are drawn into the design. Graphic designers utilize bold colors to make projects more lively and interactive, which viewers tend to enjoy. Using bold colors in our designs is already a favorite practice of ours, so we are more than excited to see it continue to grow in popularity in the new year.

design trends 2025 graphic design: nature inspired designs

4. Design Trends 2025: Nature-inspired designs

On the flip side, designs inspired by nature are growing into their own popularity. Graphic design based on nature may include more organic shapes and flow as opposed to sharp angles. Nature-inspired designs may also focus on color and using more natural, muted colors over bright, almost artificial colors. Nature has always been a source of inspiration for artists, yet in the age of advanced technology, nature has become increasingly overlooked. This new movement towards making nature-inspired graphic design will be a welcome change in the industry.

design trends 2025 graphic design: Accessibility

5. Design Trends 2025: Accessibility

One of the most important aspects of a graphic designer’s job is to make sure that the sites and visuals they are creating have optimal functionality, and a large part of this is considering the accessibility of their work. Awareness for making websites more accessible to people with an array of challenges, like visual impairments, ADHD, cognitive challenges and more. High contrast between text and background colors, legible fonts and font sizes, and clear information hierarchy are some important considerations. Focusing on accessibility ensures that more people can enjoy and connect with the work that the designer is creating, as well as find the information that they need without extra difficulty.
